California Secretary of State

1st Nationwide has extensive experience dealing with the Secretary of State. Each division of the SOS has their own guidelines and timelines for filings and copy requests. We provide services in the following areas:

We will hand walk your filing through the process and keep you posted on the status, including any problems that may arise with the filing. If your filing is rejected and a simple correction can fix the problem we will be happy to correct the documents and resubmit them for filing, with your written approval.

The Secretary of State does not allow outside services to make copies any documents. We submit your request at the clerks counter but must wait for the clerk to make the copies. This can take anywhere from one day to five days, UCC division can be longer. We follow up daily for the copies requested and will return them to you via fax, e-mail, fed-x, or regular mail. If you have a credit application on file with us we will advance and bill for all fees required.

BUSINESS NAME RECORDS

California Business Licenses or Fictitious Business Names

If it's a business license or fictitious business name you need to index or obtain copies of, we can handle it. These documents are filed in the county where the business will operate and we can normally obtain copies over the counter. Whether this is in the Sacramento area or any other county in California, we can help!

Contractors State License Board

If you need to obtain a plain or certified copy of a contractor's license we can do this for you in Sacramento. We have to submit a written request to obtain the license and the turn around time is usually within 3-14 days. If you have a credit application on file with us we will advance and bill for all fees required.

California Recorders Offices

Need to record a document in the State of California? We can do it! If it needs to be recorded in a county outside of the Sacramento area, we handle it by using our overnight pouch system. Through our CAPPS association we have a delivery system that allows us to get work from our office in Sacramento to most counties in the State of California, usually by the next business day, at no additional cost to the client. An experienced court runner will then personally submit the document to the county recorder and return conformed documents to our office. If necessary we can obtain conformed face pages via fax the same day the filing is complete. If you have an approved credit application on file with us we will be happy to advance and bill for any fees required.

If you need copies of a recorded document, we can normally get these over the counter the same day we request them, whether certified or plain. If required we will research the documents using the microfiche machines, locate the appropriate page and book numbers and obtain the copies from the clerk.

We can also index and obtain copies of birth and marriage certificates at the county recorders offices.
